dESIGN - assignment 1 Sibeliustalo

Sibeliustalo

assignment 1 for Design in Copenhagen was to build a model of a building that has important spatial concepts and forward thinking in terms of materials and use of resources. Sibeliustalo is located in Lathi, Finland and acts as a blend of old and new along with a concept that blurs the line between interior and exterior. The main building used to be an old furniture factory and the new project= Forest Hall acts as a lobby/community space for various functions. The entire structure is built from wood which is a natural resource in Sweden and is built to represent branches and trees hints the name. The blur between interior and exterior is recognized in the way the building uses glass for the exterior, so that it does not block the view of the lake.

surreal experience to visit this place
